The main purpose of the job
The Business Integrity Officer (BTU) is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Unilever Code of Business Principles (the Code) and the Code policies and for developing local due diligence procedures and other business controls in order to instill a culture of compliance. The Business Integrity Officer is responsible for achieving operational excellence in the implementation of the Code among UTT employees and relevant third parties. He will support UTT's business integrity committees and be the go-to person for escalating code-related issues within UTT. The role will report to Senior General Counsel - The Farmer.
The UTT Business Integrity Officer must demonstrate the judgment, leadership and influence necessary to implement Unilever Business Integrity at UTT for optimal results, in coordination with subject matter experts and in accordance with the Business Integrity Roadmap Global Unilever. UT's Business Integrity Officer will help ekaterra's Legal Director spread the word about Unilever's Business Integrity Program to the tea plantations.

The main responsibilities of the Tea Estates Business Integrity Officer are as follows:
Education and awareness:
Global education and outreach programs, tracking completion rates at UTT
UTT Employee Education/Specific Job Groups Required

Maintains an understanding of applicable local compliance laws/regulations and best practices. Implement local procedures and controls to cover key areas of local compliance.

- Channels of promotion and denunciation of the blog:
- Manage local code and compliance commitments within UTT through town hall and leadership team commitments.
- Make sure all reporting options are clearly communicated.
- Make sure the Business Integrity Hotline is accessible (for example, through toll-free numbers).
- Compliance with regulations and identification and evaluation of (business) risks:
- Review and monitor external UTT cases and developments and report to Senior Legal Counsel.
- Maintain requirements and procedures to monitor compliance with local regulations.
- Dealing with high risk third parties.
- Participate in (domestic) acquisitions to ensure third party compliance with relevant policies and standards.
- Manage the coordination of self-assessment of compliance with UTT standards and treatment plans.
- Handling code issues and investigations (violations):
- End responsibility for all code investigations at UTT, from preparing the investigation plan to proposing sanctions and ending the UTT Business Integrity Committee.
- Escalation and compliance support to Lead Counsel as needed for cases handled by the Plantations Business Integrity Committee.
- Investigate and finalize all cases in accordance with established global standards.
- Document control processes and process failures and escalate them to workers for repair.
- Report and track process improvements.
- Ensure the quality of data entry in the Business Integrity Reporting System.
- Report symbol status statistics to Senior Legal Counsel - Farms.
- Inform Senior Legal Counsel - Farmer of any High Risk, Reportable and/or WL2+ cases as they arise.

- Prepare position papers regarding any compliance concerns/challenges/questions (the Code).
