Accounts Assistant

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is a semi-autonomous Ministry of Works agency established on 1 July 2000 that is responsible for the day-to-day management of the main and regional road network in Tanzania. Its primary functions include managing maintenance and development work, network operations and axle load control, implementing road safety and environmental measures, and advising on strategic framework, policies, and plans for the road sector.

TANROADS Regional Director - Ruvuma, on behalf of the CEO is seeking suitable qualified Tanzanian candidates for the Office of the Regional Director and Weighing Stations. Now, TANROADS -Ruvuma Regional Director is inviting interested candidates to apply for the following positions;

Position Title: Accounts Assistant (1 position)

Academic/Professional Qualifications:-

National Form IV/VI Certificate;

Possess a Diploma in Accounting from any recognized educational institution; or an NBAA-recognized qualification (ATEC II);

Age limit: Not more than 35 years old

Computer knowledge (at least a degree in computer applications);

Must be fluent in Swahili and English;

Must be a Tanzanian citizen.

Duties and Responsibilities:-

Collect all bridge fee(s) in accordance with the scale report form;

Find current US dollar exchange rates issued by the Bank of Tanzania in the event that a Tanzania shilling equivalent fee is charged and keep exchange rates records;

Fill in all necessary records in time and keep the recording area clean:

Report all matters to the responsible Shift;

Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Shift in Charge /

Pay: TRDS 3.1;

Terms and Conditions of Service:

The term of the contract is for two years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

An applicant who has retired from public service for any reason must not apply;

The applicant must indicate three relevant referees with their trusted contacts;

Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level or universities/colleges must be endorsed by the respective national bodies (NECTA, NACTE or TCU).

The handwritten application letter must be in either Swahili or English.
