UNICEF Tanzania's Social Inclusion Program works to strengthen national programs that impact children and contribute to alleviating poverty, vulnerability and social and economic inequality. This overall objective will be achieved through 4 strategic pillars: (i) strengthening national statistical systems, utilizing strong national capacities and data analysis for effective policy advocacy; (ii) Strengthening national public financial management systems to achieve a better balance between social and economic investments, as well as increasing transparency and accountability; (iii) The national social protection system that focuses on providing comprehensive, child-sensitive, gender-transformative and shock-responsive services; and (iv) strengthen research and evaluation in child-centred policies to support child-centred, equity-focused, data-driven and evidence-based decision-making.
The UNICEF Tanzania Country Office (TCO) is looking for a full-time intern for a period of three months. The position is in the Social Policy, Research and Evaluation team based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The intern will support ongoing efforts under deliverables (1) and (3). Among others, it will support the synthesis of accurate technical analysis and available data into accessible and easy-to-understand outputs to inform policy advocacy.
How can you make a difference?
Preparing fact sheets, summaries and graphs on the situation of adolescents in mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar;
data analysis
Develop policy notes aimed at informing high-level political participation across social sectors.

Be enrolled in undergraduate, graduate or doctoral studies. Degree program or you have graduated in
the past two years.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Fluency in at least one of UNICEF's working languages: English, French or Spanish. Proficiency in the working language of the office you are applying to is required. Knowledge of Swahili is desirable.
Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
For this specific assignment, candidates with a BA in Statistics will be preferred due to the data work involved.
