context/scope:

Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) is a fully integrated beverage company in Diageo Africa (beer and spirits supply and demand).

SBL's flagship brand is Serengeti Premium Lager. Other brands in the group include Serengeti Lite, Guinness, Pilsner, and SIB. Based in Dar es Salaam, SBL is also the distributor for many well-known international spirits brands including Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Gordon's, Bailey's, and Captain Morgan.

Scope of function

The main responsibility is the presentation of the NSV for the year of employment and the volume established by the line manager. (NSV 2.5-3 BLN TZS).

District Management - Distributors, Resellers, and Point of Sale Fulfillment

The purpose of the role

The Sales Officer will manage a specific geographic area that may include cities/towns and various distribution areas in terms of achieving primary and secondary sales/distribution goals and other KPIs. Lead and motivate region distributors, VSMs, and their employees in their assigned region to achieve planned volume, market share, NSV, and NR goals

Work with commercial teams to ensure their commitment and participation in the plans, in order to deliver flawless execution. Close working relationship with SBL Marketing, Supply, and Finance.

3-5 main responsibilities

Training and Support VSM - SE is responsible for training as part of the Diageo Toolkit.

Primary and Secondary Area Distributor Sales Performance Management SE is responsible for managing secondary sales through inventory and retail. Initially, you will work with the distributor's manager to direct the initial sales plan that has been agreed upon with the distributor. Responsible for the management and execution of the 10-15 main points of sale, including the most assorted. He/She takes orders and passes them to VSM or distributor and ensures delivery. Adhere to the itinerary plan for thick and excellent ports.

From time to time, SE will represent the Distribution Manager to communicate with the Distributor. In secondary sales, SE has two fronts; Communicate with distributor on secondary sales initiatives, coach and direct VSM on the effectiveness of the sales team in achieving goals. Secondary Sales Initiatives include but are not limited to, approving Secondary Sales Initiatives with Client Marketing and managing such Secondary Sales Initiatives. Some of the secondary sales initiatives include a three-wheeler project, more stock incentives, etc.

Assign a new distribution point – Identify potential areas for new and more stocked distributors. This is to facilitate efficient and effective inventory movement to achieve the primary and secondary sales target for your region. It also includes understanding and ownership of the "know your customer" process for recruiting new business partners.

Account Development: You will be responsible for the joint activities carried out between the main points of sale and SBL to increase sales and market share. These may include;

Implementation of a point of sale for some sales drivers to attract consumers towards specific brands/categories, such as point of sale visibility, price initiatives, offers/promotions for the consumer, etc.

Innovation drive to drive brand innovation

Price compatibility and availability

points of sale and visibility; cooler run

List of new and new brands

Increase sales and inform distributors of blanks, OOS, etc.

Competitive intelligence gathering

Implementation of coordinated activations at the national level in the port

Distributor Health and Profitability: Responsible for the growth of its own distributor by being a strategic logistics provider partner with SBL. The actions undertaken by the distributor must be the improvement of the quality in terms of orders, receiving and distribution of inventory, the efficiency in the secondary distribution in terms of trucks, roads, and personnel capacity, and the automation of the operations of the distributor. You will work with the dealer manager to ensure the dealer remains profitable at all times. You will also ensure that SBL is working effectively with the distributor to ensure that our investments with the distributor have a good return on investment. You will be responsible for highlighting the red flags when a distributor's operations and performance threaten SBL's objectives.SBL represents distributors, retail clients, and consumers.
