Position: Head of the Human Resources and Training Department
Work Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
The Head of Human Resources and Training is responsible for developing and implementing a human resources strategy to support the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, and training. and development. and compensation. HHR provides strategic leadership by articulating human resource needs and plans for the executive management team and stakeholders.
Job responsibilities:
- provide leadership in human resources; Collaborate with the management team to design and implement strategies to support organizational growth and culture.
- Collaborate with the HR team at headquarters on the introduction of organizational development initiatives
- Conduct ongoing analysis of the organization and monitor and interpret key HR trends and metrics
- Full-cycle management of human resources operations
- Develop practices and programs that attract, retain and develop the best possible talent in the market and make the company attractive through competitive salaries and a culture of commitment.
- Capacity development: development of people and processes to ensure the provision of human resources services throughout the country and ensure greater participation, motivation, and productivity of employees.
- Selection and Special Projects - Propose and present new HR initiatives and sequence HR practices, coordinate and communicate with headquarters and other countries, and support change management programs.
- HR Policy Review and Analysis - Monitor all aspects of HR and labor law compliance.
- HRIS - Monitor and direct the team to ensure that employee information is maintained and updated in the ERP HR system. HRIS support and evaluation of relevant human resources data.
- Implementation of a functional human resources management system and internal databases in all departments and sites
- Monitor our performance and salary evaluation systems.
- Relationship management: manage the above while maintaining all relevant internal and external relationships.
- Review and update our contracts and employment agreements
- Develop and implement the department budget.
- Measure the effectiveness of our benefit programs and recommend improvements
Protection responsibilities:
- Create a culture of protection at all levels of the program by implementing the protection policy. Act as the primary source of protection support, guidance, and expertise to create a safe work environment.
- Responsible for ensuring that team members are properly trained and supported and have access to resources related to the problems identified and act on them in accordance with the Protection policy and procedures.
- Follow preventive notification procedures in the event of any reported incidents and encourage others to do so.
Qualifications and experience required:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a related area of concentration; A master's degree is preferred (eg MBA, MSc Human Resources).
- Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Human Resources Profession Certificate are an added bonus.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in HR with 3 years of experience in a similar position.

- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks when necessary.
- Extensive knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
